Scholarship Qualifications

To qualify for the SCR Scholarship Program, students should be enrolled in or in the process of enrolling in trade-approved programs—HVAC, HVAC/R, electrical, or plumbing. To ensure the scholarship program is a good fit, students are asked to complete an aptitude test to analyze mechanical inclination, initiative, deduction, knowledge of tools, academic achievement, and more. 

In addition, SCR puts new graduates right to work to help jumpstart their careers. Those who receive an SCR scholarship are required to work for two years post-graduation at one of SCR’s locations in the Twin Cities metro, St. Cloud, Rochester, Duluth, Mankato, or Baxter; Aberdeen, South Dakota; or Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
